Biography

Self-Portrait No. 2

From finger painting as a child to being the portrait, landscape, and still life artist I am today, artistic expression has been an integral part of my life. In my work I strive to capture the different aspects and realms of life and the world around me. My inspiration comes from present day observations interspersed with memorable past experiences. My goal is to evoke emotion and inspiration in my paintings and drawings.

Through my artistic journey, I have willingly experimented with as many mediums, techniques, and methods as I could and have been eager to learn from other artists and artwork, which I will continue to do. Not only has this opened my eyes to the endless realm of opportunity and exploration in the practice, but it has helped solidify my passion for understanding the true power of creation and the different ways to express ideas, inspiration, and emotion onto paper. Through this passion, I create to portray a variety of subject matter that pique my interest with different mediums, including charcoal, watercolor, and oil.

To have an obsession with the foundational principles and elements of art, and to observe its presence and effect in everyday life, has been invaluable in my work and truly changed the way I view the world.
